Unlike most car enthusiasts, I didn’t grow up with a car poster on my wall. Exotic cars weren’t even in the realm of possibility for me when I was growing up.  My first exposure to the Audi R8 was when I was in high school and watched the movie Iron Man for the first time in 2008. I grew up poor, and as such had never really thought about exotic or luxury cars, but when I saw Tony Stark driving around Malibu in his R8 it officially became my dream car. I was 17 at the time. From that moment my dream was to get one. Simple, but many would say out of reach. Most of my friends thought that I was silly to think that I would be able to afford one in my lifetime, but it became a beacon that lit the way for my hard work. I fell in love with the brand. I started my first company while I was a freshman at UCLA and by my 2nd year I was able to afford an Audi A5. It was my first introduction to the Four Rings family and at the time it was the closest I could get to the R8 of my dreams.

Five years later, in the summer of 2015 I took delivery of my dream car, a Nardo Grey Manual V8 R8. Since then I’ve been on a mission to explore the world with it. By the end of the this year I will have visited all 48 lower states, as well as Canada, and have plans to ship the car to Europe for an epic road trip. For me the greatest enjoyment comes from experiencing everything that my car has to offer, ranging from open roads to race tracks, and the friendships and joy that I’ve created as a result. Driving through Middle America on a recent road trip I had the opportunity to share my car, my passion, with kids and adults alike that couldn’t believe they were seeing an Audi R8 in person. It brought me endless joy to let them sit in my car and rev it, something that they’d likely never have another chance to do.

My goal is to continue this journey further than anyone else ever has. I not only want to drive in all 50 states, but I want to drive on every continent. I enjoy every mile that I put on my car and my plan is to reach 1,000,000 miles on it. What an awesome legacy that would be. A million mile Audi R8 that also happens to be the very last manual R8 ever produced by Audi. This journey would not be possible without the partnership of Shell to keep me going mile after mile.
